At Ken Gabbay Coffee Ltd we have a set of values which we believe in, promote and incorporate along our whole supply chain. Our values make us who we are and are a crucial part of our business. By drawing on the following key principals, we communicate with and advocate for our producers and our customers with transparency while using every means to protect the environment and promote sustainability:

Workers

We believe in treating workers with basic fair standards. This means that workers are working of their own free will in an environment that is conducive to their health and well-being. This standard includes such values as a strong stance against unethical child labour practices and equal rights regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity or political views. This also includes proper working hours and salary, which conform to universal norms, as well as ensuring safe and hygienic labour conditions and proper access to health care.

Child Labour

We believe in the need for ensuring the safety and protection of all children. While countries may have different legal standards, no child should be deprived of their education or be placed in circumstances that may be hazardous to their well-being. Many families encourage their children to work and bring in an income, and while children helping a family’s economic situation is not inherently harmful, it must be done in a way that causes no deprivation or danger to the child.

Investment in Supplier Communities

We believe that the quality of the coffee starts where it is grown. It is imperative to invest in the well-being and sustainability of every coffee community to ensure a thriving crop. Access to credit as well as continuing education and process improvements are essential to maintain a consistently high quality of coffee beans. In every way, we seek to assist communities with the resources to produce the best green coffee product on the market.

Environment and Sustainability

We believe in and promote the importance of environmentally responsible business practices. In addition to legal minimums, we believe in taking the extra step for the preservation of our limited natural resources when implementing the whole green coffee supply chain. We seek to conserve the biodiversity of both flora and fauna, which includes the reduction and safe management of waste, using sustainable sources of water and energy, avoiding soil contamination, and reducing and offsetting damaging emissions.

Transparency

We believe in a clear chain of information from the producer to the consumer. Good communication and education allows us to consider the needs and wants of both the producer and customer to ensure the best quality and benefit for all stakeholders involved.

Quality, sustainability, and transparency are all integral components of our business strategy.
